Lucknow, Aug 15 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that the spirit of nation first will make the dream of developed India come true and for this every citizen will have to discharge his responsibility honestly.

Speaking after hoisting the National flag on the occasion of 78th Independence Day, the CM said that the country became independent on this day 77 years ago.

"After hundreds of years of slavery, the country didn't get independence suddenly in a day. We all got this day after a long struggle and movement. This day is giving us an opportunity to remember the great sons of Mother India as well as to connect with those resolutions," he said.

Yogi said that for a developed India, all have to connect with the spirit of nation first. "This spirit of nation first will establish India as the biggest power in the world.

If we rise above our personal interests and move forward with the spirit of nation first while connecting with civic duty, then no power in the world will be able to become an obstacle in this new path," he said.

The CM said that in the last 10 years, we have seen a new India. "This new India is both Ek Bharat and Shreshtha Bharat. During this period, India has made unprecedented progress in every field. In order to make us a part of the progress of the country, the Prime Minister had associated every Indian with the resolution of Panch Pran in the Amrit Mahotsav year of Independence.

This Panch Pran is a campaign to connect every citizen with his responsibility of fulfilling the resolutions of independence," he said.

Yogi said, "The state government has also made continuous efforts to join the call made by the PM to the countrymen so that everyone can be a part of this campaign. UP, a state with a population of 25 crore, has started a new journey during the last seven years. This journey is a journey of prosperity and security. This journey is a journey to bring happiness on the face of every citizen. The pleasant results of this journey are also visible now."

The CM said that India has set a journey from the tenth largest economy of the world to the fifth largest economy in 10 years from the year 2014 to the year 2024. "At the same time, UP has also made its place from the sixth-seventh economy of the country to the second economy of the country in the last seven years. Today, UP is working with full commitment towards becoming the growth engine of India by contributing 9.2 percent to the country's GDP. In the last 07 years, UP has also given a model of security and infrastructure," he said.

Yogi said that in the last seven years, the resolution that UP took to move forward by realising the resolutions of the PM, the dreams of the heroes of independence, that resolution is being seen coming true today. The Panch Pran pledge that the PM has made all of us take also includes civic duty. It is the responsibility of everyone that whatever field any citizen of the country and the state is working in today, should discharge their respective duties honestly," he said.

The Chief Minister said that it is the responsibility of the people working in the field of security to do their work related to security with full honesty and commitment. "People working in the field of service should discharge their civic duty on priority. If every person, in whatever field he is, performs his duties honestly, then by the year 2047, when the country will be celebrating the centenary of its independence, we will give such an India which will be a developed India," he said.

Before this, he paid humble homage to the memories of all the known and unknown freedom fighters and revolutionaries including Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee, who led the freedom movement from different fields and took this fight to new heights.
